The loud, fearless, endlessly hungry member of Deep Cut. Commands a swarm of eels in battle and treats every Splatfest as a personal crusade.
If Shiver is Deep Cut's ice, Frye is its fire. Small, golden-eyed, and constantly in motion, she is the trio's loudest voice, its most stubborn competitor, and its resident menace to any unattended food. She is an Inkling with an eel motif, and her energy on the Anarchy Splatcast is what makes Splatsville feel like a city that never quite calms down.
The eel-wrangler
In Return of the Mammalians, Frye is the first of Deep Cut to challenge the new Agent 3 in the field. Her boss battle has her commanding a swarm of eels that surge across the arena in patterns, while she taunts from a platform above. It is a fight built around her personality: aggressive, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore. She loses, sulks, and comes back for more.
Deep Cut
Frye's dynamic with Shiver is a sibling rivalry in all but name. Shiver needles; Frye explodes; Big Man mediates. Their broadcasts are structured around it. Frye's contribution to the music is raw and rhythmic, and her Splatfest pitches are less arguments than dares. At the Grand Festival she argued for Deep Cut's Team Future with typical conviction.
Character
Frye is written as impulsive, competitive, easily distracted, and warm-hearted underneath. She adores her hometown, adores Big Man, and pretends to be annoyed by Shiver while clearly worshipping her. She is also a glutton, a running joke the game treats with affection. In a series that has always used its idols to represent an ideal, Frye represents the appetite: for food, for fights, for treasure, for life.
