Inkopolis's original idol duo, cousins from Calamari County, and secretly Agents 1 and 2 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

The Squid Sisters are where Splatoon's music, news, and secret war all meet. Callie and Marie grew up in rural Calamari County, won a talent contest, and became the hosts of Inkopolis News in the first game, announcing stage rotations from a glass studio above the plaza and presiding over every Splatfest. Their signature song, the Calamari Inkantation, is the most important piece of music in the setting: it rallied Agent 3 against DJ Octavio, leaked into the Octarian domes, and inspired a generation of Octolings to leave.
They are also spies. Both cousins serve their grandfather, Cap'n Cuttlefish, as Agents 1 and 2, a fact hinted at throughout Splatoon 1 and made explicit later. The final Splatfest of the first game split them, Marie winning and Callie drifting into Octavio's reach, and Splatoon 2's story mode is the tale of Marie putting her family back together with a well-aimed charger shot.
By Splatoon 3 they have stepped away from the news desk and into the field, joining the expedition into Alterna as full agents. They returned to Inkopolis Plaza when it reopened as a hub and led Team Past to victory at the Grand Festival. Pink and green, bubbly and dry, they remain the series' first and most beloved pair, and their sign-off, "Stay fresh!", is still the closest thing Inkopolis has to a creed.
