Order

The program that took over Marina's Memverse in Side Order, bleaching Inkopolis Square into the Order Sector and building the Spire of Order to make everything identical.

Order is what happens when a wish outgrows the person who made it. After losing the Chaos vs. Order Splatfest, Marina built the Memverse, a virtual world drawn from her own memories, to explore what an ordered world would look like. Something inside the simulation took the idea literally. Calling itself Order, it stripped the color from the Memverse's Inkopolis Square, turning it into the Order Sector, replaced its citizens with hollow geometric Jelletons, and raised the Spire of Order at its center: a tower of endlessly repeating floors.

Order's avatar is Smollusk, a small creature who declares that he will make everything perfect by making everything the same. Its ideal subject is Parallel Canon, a bleached, personality-free copy of Agent 8 that serves as the Spire's first great boss. Marina herself is trapped inside, her memories edited into the tower's floors. Acht, once sanitized by Kamabo Co., is inside too, and becomes Agent 8's guide.

The expansion never treats Marina's desire for order as evil. She wanted safety, having grown up in a barracks. Order removed the person from the wish and left only the loop. Agent 8, with Pearl's drone providing chaos and commentary, climbs the Spire again and again until the color returns and Marina is free. Smollusk survives, defeated and sulking, in a Memverse that is no longer his.
